Trilochan and Anjana Chhaya formed CCDC, a Consulting Design Studio in August 1989. Trilochan graduated from CEPT, went on to GSD at Harvard University to complete M.Arch in 1972. Since then he worked in Nairobi and at Ahmedabad with B.V.Doshi. In Mumbai, he headed as an associate of Kothari Associates for ten years till 1989. Anjana graduated in Architecture from Sir JJ at Mumbai and has been with Trilochan in personal and professional journey. Trilochan has taught at various Design schools. He was a Founder Member and the Director of KRV Institute for Architecture; Mumbai, in addition to involvement with Council of Architecture in Educational Policies. Perception of Form, Place and Reality is changing and hence the role of Architects will enhance as Designers. CCDC is learning to listen to and understand this new Reality. Atrey Chhaya and Dipal Kothari, both Architects are post graduate students at the AA and the Bartlett. They are learning this new reality and the new language. CCDC is spreading its wings in this new sky. datachhaya is the brand name of this enhancement to its practice. CCDC is built on a vast and
varied professional experience in the field of Architecture and Design. · Architecture, Re-architecture and Urban Design have been the focus at CCDC. · Each Project has its own personality to be identified, explored and enhanced. · Technology and Tools are changing continuously both in the Construction Industry and at the Studio. CCDC keeps updating at both levels. · Understanding and translating complexities, and assisting the Client at all levels of realization of Project, has been the sincere endeavor of the practice. Design Projects completed by CCDC have ranged in scales and complexities. A single dwelling or a township, a small school or an institution, a guest house or a resort or a hotel, a climate dependant or an artificial climate dependant project, a reality or a virtual reality environ, at CCDC, all projects are received with a sense of wonder. They are dealt with professional sincerity till completion of the project. Completed Projects are spread basically in Western and Southern India; CCDC has also practiced in Dubai and completed works there. Studio at CCDC is electronic, computerized and connected. All Architects, Engineers and Designers are both paper and computer friendly. While it is keen to accept the new, the firm builds on its past experience. CCDC works as an umbrella for various Specialist Consultants such as: · Structural Engineering · Plumbing and Sanitation · HVAC, Fire and BAS Engineering · Landscape · Interior Design · Project and Construction Management. CCDC recognizes the nature and importance of specialization offered by Consultants. Comprehensive perception however is of paramount importance to any project. CCDC shares this comprehensive perception and experience with all projects.
